John A Baron

Responding to a colleague who requested more details about this blog I wrote: "The name of the Blog is simply "Stories from The Alexander Technique."

Having been involved in the work for many years I'm continually intrigued and inspired by how creatively individuals take hold of the principles and use them to enhance their lives. Not only for activities but in their personal growth, relationships and their being in the world etc. So it's more that 'spark' I'm wanting us to explore. And I tend to find that listening to the personal stories people have.

The (royal) 'we' you ask about is myself with a little help from
students of the AEC (Alexander Educational Center - Alexander teacher
training school in Berkeley). The Blog will only post individual
stories of the work and will not invite comment on these stories. I do
this so people's stories will just speak for themselves - without
inviting negative or positive 'feedback' (if they would like comments
they could list their email address.). So - story not commentary.
Because of this 'hands off' approach, the only editing will be of AT
teachers names - not wanting to promote individual teachers so the
focus of the story stays with the writer and not about how helpful
their teacher is even when they are. Submissions can be of any length.

So I'm letting AT teachers know of this new blog in case they have
students who enjoy writing and who have a story to tell.

The blog has been set up for me by my web designer, just, and we
have one story so far. (It was written by one of my private pupil's.)
I see it more of a 'Mom and Pop" blog and I'm fine with that, rather
than a Huffington Post enterprise. But - I do hope to have a
worthwhile collection of stories that will indirectly help illuminate the
nature of this work.

As I am new to the Blogging world I appreciate your suggestions. I have Robert's (Robert Rickover) blog linked on my own - it was his suggestion I forwarded the information on the new Blog to you.

Will check out your other suggestions which are appreciated. Thanks."
